TechXpress NOW OFFERS DSL SERVICE

San Luis Obispo, CA - San Luis Obispo-based company, TechXpress is now offering high speed DSL service to businesses and residents throughout the Central Coast due to the fast growing demand of bandwidth. TechXpress DSL service is powered by New Edge Networks, one of the country's largest broadband DSL and enhanced data communications services provider for small and midsize cities.

According to Bryan Sarlitt, President of TechXpress, because New Edge Networks is the largest DSL network in the area, the DSL service offered by TechXpress is the fastest, most reliable, and most secure network available locally.

"As a competitive local service provider, we believe we are faster, more nimble and responsive in delivering superior service and value to our customers," says Sarlitt.

TechXpress offers a full range of business-class DSL choices and speeds to meet specific business and high-level consumer applications. Monthly business rates include monthly ISP access charge, local telephone charges, plus unlimited, always-on usage. Multiple employees can connect their computers to a single high-speed DSL line to share Internet access through out their office.

About 75 percent of the businesses and households are within range of New Edge Networks' DSL system in San Luis Obispo County. Proximity to the local telephone company's central switching offices, where New Edge Networks collocates its DSL equipment, influences the type and speed of DSL availability.

Using existing standard telephone wires in homes or businesses, DSL technology can provide access to the Internet and corporate computer networks at speeds more than 40 times faster than traditional dial-up modems. In addition to speed, other key benefits of DSL technology include continuous "always on" connections eliminating dial up or waiting, secure access using dedicated facilities, and reliability because the network is monitored around the clock.

"Fast DSL connections allow users to send and receive large data files quickly and securely, freeing up people and dedicated telephone lines for other uses. This improves employee productivity and efficiency," said Sarlitt. "Broadband or high speed Internet access is fundamentally changing how Central Coast area businesses and consumers do business, learn, work and play. It is no longer a question of whether to sign up for broadband. It's a question of when."

TechXpress offers symmetric DSL, ISDN DSL, and other enhanced data services, all powered by New Edge Networks.

Symmetric DSL (SDSL) allows identical downloading and uploading speeds. This is ideal for business applications that require sending and receiving large files. Speeds range up to 2.3 million bits a second compared to 56,000 bits a seconds for standard modem connections.

SDSL allows customers to talk on the phone and be online at the same time. This eliminates the need to pay for a separate telephone line from the telephone company.

The ISDN DSL (SDSL) option is typically for users too far away from the telephone company central office to have the faster DSL connections. The speed for typical SDSL connections is up to 144,000 bits a second, almost three times faster than the standard 56,000 from a dial up connection.

Other enhanced data services from New Edge Networks include Reach T1 products designed for customers located too far from a telephone company central office and require speeds ranging from 192,000 to 1.5 million bits a second.
