TechXpress to Open Computer Training Center

San Luis Obispo, CA -- Local information technology services firm, TechXpress, Inc., will be opening a new Computer Training Center on August 3, 2004. The company will offer a variety of short, intensive computer training classes at the facility, located at the Creekside Career Center at 4111 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo.

TechXpress has hired Gretchen Hambright as their Director of Computer Training Services. Hambright has eight years of experience in technical training and design of instructional systems. Most recently, she was the Lead Trainer at the local office of a major computer firm. The second instructor, Jerry Robinson, was a Computer Science teacher with the Atascadero Unified School District for many years.

“These classes are truly unique,” said Hambright. “We’ve created custom course materials in plain English, without the technical jargon that is daunting to many people. The classes are also short and concise, easy to fit into your busy schedule.”

Hambright also noted that TechXpress will keep class sizes to no more than eight individuals, in order to give each participant personalized attention.

The TechXpress Computer Training Center will offer two 5 hour classes on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) each week, along with six 3 hour classes on various topics such as PC Basics, Digital Photography, and eBay 101. Most classes are designed for novice and intermediate computer users, however one-on-one customized classes will also be available for those of all experience levels. Companies and organizations may schedule private classes at the Center or at their own offices. The Center also offers free refresher courses, allowing students to brush up on skills at a later date for no additional cost.

TechXpress plans to consolidate both the Training Center and their main offices to a larger facility in the fall. The new space will accommodate at least three full training labs as well as several instruction rooms designed for one-on-one training. Hambright said that, in the coming months, the company also plans to hire additional training staff and add unique and innovative class offerings such as Genealogy.

“Our company philosophy is to be a one-stop source for all of your computer needs, and to make technology easily accessible to everyone,” said TechXpress President/CEO Bryan Sarlitt. “Opening the Training Center is right in line with these goals and a natural step in the company’s evolution.”

Classes are $59 for a 3 hour course and $79 for a 5 hour course. To register, call 782-TECH (8324). For a full class schedule visit their website at www.techxpress.net.
