Goetz Manderley cuts its annual IT costs by 50% with the implementation of NetGuard from TechXpress

Q&A with Gordon Goetz, President of Goetz Manderley:

"I’m Gordon Goetz, president of Goetz Manderley. Our company primarily manages communities, and we do typical property management as well. We have 5 offices. Our annual revenue is approx. $4M/year, and we have 65 employees. Because of that size, we really do need to be on the cutting edge of technology. Our competitors are certainly striving to do that, and I think we have a leg up on most of them with the NetGuard program from TechXpress."

What type of issues were you experiencing prior to NetGuard?

"As President of the company, I was spending too much time worrying and managing the IT problems we were having prior to NetGuard. Again, I don’t like loss of productivity – that’s a cost. On the other hand it just wasn’t feasible to have somebody come out every couple of days to look at the problems that we were having. So from my standpoint now, I virtually am disconnected with IT management. TechXpress has taken care of that for me. It’s a tremendous savings of my personal time."

What does NetGuard from TechXpress do for you?

"TechXpress to us is one stop shopping, any issue we have with computers, any type of information technology. We just pick up the phone, or go through their online ticking service and they take care of our problem. Whether its ordering new information, sitting down with us and consulting on expansion, or consolidation of software programs and hardware platforms. They provide everything for us.

And with NetGuard we have most of our problems taken care of before we even realize that they’re problems. They are monitoring the computers 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. When they detect a virus, they’ll take care of the virus. When they detect some other type of deficiency, they take care of it. And then they give us a report periodically."

How has NetGuard impacted your bottom line?

"Since we implemented NetGuard, we’ve had a tremendous reduction in downtime, and a tremendous increase in system performance. My suspicion is that we’ve probably increased productivity by about 8-10% and our overall IT costs are dramatically reduced probably by close to 50%.

The employees, the moral is much higher obviously because when they come in to do their job, and are under pressure, the computer isn’t going to be something that prevents them from working."

What do you value most about your relationship with TechXpress?

"The thing I value the most about the relationship I have with TechXpress and NetGuard is it’s a growing relationship. It’s very scalable. As we grow, they are certainly capable to grow with us. And that’s something that’s very important to a business owner because once we pass a certain level of activity; we certainly don’t want to have the interruption at that point to find another IT provider. So TechXpress has been excellent at growing with us and supporting our needs, and oftentimes anticipating what our needs are and will be in the near future.

How does security play a factor into your organization?
 
"Security and reliability is very important to us. We are fiduciaries to over 200 communities as well as 300 property owners and all of their personal information and financial information is part of our computer system, and again that’s accessed by 65 employees at 5 different locations. So certainly security is not only important to us, but we have to make a statement to our clients that their information will be maintained in strict confidence."

Would you recommend NetGuard to other organizations?

"Well I certainly would recommend NetGuard to other organizations. As a matter of fact, I have recommended them to a number of organizations."
