Q&A with Matt Gaines, COO of Chuck Liddell's Ultimate Iceman Supplements:
“Ultimate Iceman Supplements is a company that started in October 2009. We sell sports nutritional products to athletes, MMA athletes, weekend warriors, we pretty much cover the spectrum of all demographics – anybody and everybody can benefit from the use of supplements. We’re the company that fills that need.
As we were writing our business and marketing plan, we realized that a technological partner was going to be key. And if you have a substandard website, you’re going to have a substandard company. So we shopped all around. Not just locally. We shopped nationally. We shopped internationally. We compared pricing. We compared benefits. We compared usability.
We wanted a balance between cost effectiveness and professionalism so we found that with TechXpress being that they were offering the entire package. “
What is Dashboard, and how are you utilizing it for your website?
“The thing that sold us on TechXpress as our technology partner was the Dashboard system. With the Dashboard system we’re actually able to control in real-time content, pricing, products, promotions – everything on our website – from my laptop at home, from my iphone, from our main offices – we can really control our content , our specials, everything remotely without having to wait for a company that’s open 8 – 5 Monday thru Friday.
There are so many things in the Dashboard system that we haven’t even scratched the surface of yet which is pretty exciting and so as Dashboard has met all of our needs, it’s going to continue to meet needs we didn’t even know that we had – that’s what’s so great about that system.”
How would you rate the service you’ve received from TechXpress?
“One of the things I really value about our relationship with TechXpress is the after-sales service. So many companies, so many people that you experience in your life through business or personal, once they get what they want, their gone, their done, that’s it. We’re in a position now that TechXpress has no intrinsic benefit of working overtime to make us successful but they do it anyway. And I think something like that speaks volumes about a company. It’s something we try to do in our own companies. And just seeing a company like that on that level that’s willing to go over and above for you, I think that says a lot.”
How has TechXpress worked with your company’s budget?
“The nice thing about TechXpress being our technology partner was that they offered us multiple options regarding pricing and service. We at first decided to go with minimal expenditures but as we started to see some of the benefits of spending a little bit more, and some of the return on investments which was all but guaranteed, we decided to step it up and go full force with it.
Since cutting over our site over to TechXpress, our sales are up almost exactly 600% from the day of, I looked it up before we did this interview actually, 598% increase in sales since we switched over from the one we were running in-house.”
Would you recommend TechXpress to others?
“I would definitely recommend TechXpress and the Dashboard program based on the fact that I’m doing a testimonial for it, and it’s not just because I like being on camera.
You’ve heard the stories about the company that spent millions of dollars on their super bowl commercial and then when it came time for orders, they crashed.
If you’re going to take your company seriously, take your website seriously. Don’t be scared to spend that extra few bucks for the site. Because in our experience, it’s paid off tenfold.
